Our courses:
Focused on Communication

We work withour own teaching materials

a real Spanish experience in Spain

There are many factors that determine success in the classroom. Teachers, materials, method, course structure, even the classroom itself as an educational space. At Mester, we pay special attention to achieving the perfect balance between these aspects, so that the learning process is direct, effective and enjoyable.

The fact that we work with our own teaching material allows us to keep it up to date at all times, always respecting the contents and objectives of each level. In the same way, thanks to the use of technology in class, perfectly adapted to our materials, we achieve a greater and more efficient interaction between the students and the teacher, creating the ideal environment for learning a language such as Spanish.

Our courses perfectly combine the acquisition of theoretical content with communicative practice, although it is true that the latter is the real protagonist in our classes. Every day, you will gradually and progressively learn the grammatical concepts, which you will later have the opportunity to put into practice during the conversation class. But it’s not just about learning and repeating, it’s about providing you with all the tools you need to build your own reality of Spanish. To do this, we introduce in the class, in a natural and enjoyable way, multiple cultural contents so that you get to know the reality of the Spanish language first hand. Remember, learning a language is learnig fromthe people who speak it.

Where you stopped it in your own country. In addition, you can always choose the level you are most interested in at any given moment, depending on your preferences: review and reinforce content or, on the contrary, seek a challenge with new ones at a higher level.

Our language course covers all avalilable levels:

A1
Absolute begginer level
A2
Elementary level
B1
Threshold Intermediate level
B2
Upper Intermediate level
C1
Advanced level
C2
High Advenced level

All courses have the same structure, combining a part dedicated to grammar and another part to communi- cation and culture. Classes usually take place in the morning, from 9.30 to 13.00, from Monday to Friday, with a 20-minute break between the two parts.

Activities

The ideal complement for your learning

Learning Spanish is not just about studying. Although it is true that classes are the daily starting point to learn and reinforce the main concepts of the language, the lesson does not end when you close the book and leave the classroom, but continues beyond its four walls. For this reason, at Mester we put special care and effort into developing a complete pro- gramme of sociocultural activities that perfectly complement your Spanish programme.

Thanks to our experience and adaptability, we have designed an offer where the balance between culture, language and fun is perfect. You will visit the main monuments of Salamanca, you will get to know many aspects of History, Literature or Art, but you will also discover and experience our culture first hand through the tapas route, the dance or Mediterranean cooking classes, the visits to craft centres and local museums or the typical dinner. At Mester we consider it of vital importance to integrate our students in the real life of the Spanish people, in their schedules, in their lifestyle, so that they feel, from the very first moment, an active part of the life of our city.

Some of the main features of our socio-cultural programme:

• All activities are included in the programme, including a tapas route and an excursion (depending on the availability of the week in question).

• The activities are optional, so you can always choose which ones you want to join or not.

• Every Monday we will provide you with the specific socio-cultural itinerary for each week.

• All activities are led by our guides, who will not only give you all the details of the visit in question, but will also be available at all times to help you with anything you may need.

• Our Activities Department will advise you at all times on the specific contents of each activity, gi- ving you all the details about it. We will also advise you on any other activity available in the city, even if it is not included in our programme.

• Although most activities are available all year round, there are others adapted to different seasons and weather conditions. For example, in summer you can go to the swimming pool, go horse riding, go on a trip to the beach or play sports (subject to availability each week).

• There are some optional activities that require an additional payment. We will inform you about them so that you can decide whether you want to join them or not.

Accommodation

We want our students to feel "at home"

Travelling to another country can be an adventure, whether it is for pleasure, for business or, as in this case, to learn a language. Overnight, the world around us has become a new reality: the language, the pace of life, the character of the people, the climate, the timetables. Adapting to this new reality can be quite a challenge, which is why at Mester we provide our students with all the necessary tools to make this transition as natural and easy as possible.

There are many factors that can determine whether a stay is more or less profitable, and one of the most important is undoubtedly the right choice of accommodation. Slee- ping, eating, resting and showering are not by chance some of the verbs that students learn during their first steps along the Spanish language path. These are everyday and necessary actions, aspects of daily life that condition our lives and make them more comfortable. For this reason, one of our priorities is to provide students with accommo- dation that allows them to feel “at home”, that is to say, as if they were living in a second home in Spain.

At Mester we guarantee that your accommodation:

• Will be less than 20 minutes walk from the school.
• Your room will be available from 14:00 on the Sunday before the first day of the course until 10:00 on the Saturday after the last day of the course. If you require ad- ditional nights, please check with us in advance.
• We take into account all the variables that may be important for your stay, such as dietary or food requirements, allergies, medical treatments, or any other aspect that you consider important for your stay.
• Community services related to accommodation (electricity, gas, internet connection, water, electricity and local taxes) are included in the general price of the programme.
• The accommodation options we offer at Mester are diverse and varied, so that they can be adapted to your personal preferences: family, residence, hostel, hotel, private flat, etc. It is also possible to combine different types of accommodation for stays longer than four weeks.
• If, for any reason, the option selected at the beginning does not meet your expecta- tions, we will change your accommodation as soon as possible.

The most traditional accommodation is with a host family. Students must take into account that the habits and, above all, the food are different from those at home. They must also respect the rules of the house in terms of timetables, uses and behaviour with the members of the family, with other students who may stay there and with the rest of the neighbours in the building. The host families are located a maximum of 20 minutes walk from Mester.

Another possibility is to stay in a residence. This is without doubt the most comfortable option. We have our own residence in the same building as the classrooms, with capacity for 60 people. The rooms are equipped with television, wifi and air conditioning. There is also a 24-hour reception. If our facilities are fully booked, we can accommodate students in other residences within a 10-minute walk.

Another option is in a hostel, guest house or hotel. The price depends on the category. Normally it is on a sleeping-only basis. It is possible to arrange meals in a centrally located restaurant.
